CINEMA

>> Odeon Cinema Kensington High Street
Kensington High Street, Kensington, London, W8 6NA, T: 0871 22 44 007
The cinema on Kensington High Street has been around for ages - even hosting some premieres before they all moved to Leicester Square.  The main screen is large, with great audio. The other screens a little smaller.  Car parking is very restricted near the cinema as its only for permit holders - although that's not 24/7.  Nearest NCP car park is on Hornton Street, opposite the tube station and one road back.

>> IMAX at the Science Museum
Exhibition Road, South Kensington, SW7 2DD, T: 0870 870 4771
The 3D IMAX cinema at the Science Museum in South Kensington shows both short natural history / science films as well as blockbusters in 3d.  It's a fantastic experience for kids and adults alike. They strongly recommend pre-booking during school holidays.

>> Cine Lumiere
Institut Francais, 17 Queensberry Place, South Kensington, London, SW7 2DT, T: 020 7838 2144
Cine Lumiere is based at the Insitut Francais in South Kensington and shows both French and European films - classic and new.  A very cultured cinema experience.  Call in advance.

>> Coronet
103 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3LB, T: 020 7727 6705
Opened in 1898, the Coronet is considered to be one of Britain's finest cinemas outside the West End of London.  Made famous when used in a scene in the Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts film "Notting Hill". Two screens, mainly showing front line movies.

>> The Gate Picturehouse
87 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3JZ, T: 0871 704 2058
The Gate cinema was originally opened as
The Electric Palace in the early 20th Century, and has been several things in between.  The cinema focuses on showing arthouse movies, although the odd mainstream film can be seen!

>> Cineworld Fulham Rd
142 Fulham Rd., London, SW10 9QR, T: 0871 200 2000
Mainstream cinema in Fulham Road. Mainly showing blockbusters.

>> Cineworld Chelsea
279 Kings Road, Chelsea, SW3 5EW, T: 0871 200 2000
The second of two Cineworld cinemas in Chelsea - again focusing on blockbusters, popcorn and fizzy drinks.

>> Chelsea Cinema
206 Kings Road, London, SW3 5XP, T: 020 7351 3742
Arthouse cinema on the Kings Road.

>> VUE Cinema Westfield
Vue Cinema, Westfield London, Shepherd's Bush
Nearby cinema in Westfield London.  There's also a good independent information site on the VUE cinema at Westfield Cinema.
